BrightMind is a connected digital education platform designed to bring school management, teaching, learning, assessment, learner portfolios, communication and school administration into one environment.

It is designed to help a school move from disconnected processes towards a more organized digital ecosystem.
BrightMind is designed to go beyond administration. Alongside school management, it connects digital learning, ODEL, assessment, e-Portfolio, communication and learner progress. The goal is to give the school one connected digital environment instead of relying on several unrelated systems.
BrightMind is designed for schools and their education communities, including school administrators, teachers, learners and parents. Different users can access the functions relevant to their roles.
BrightMind provides a connected environment for areas such as:
  • School and institutional records
  • Learner management
  • Teacher and user management
  • Classes and streams
  • Academic organization

Yes. Assessment and results can be organized within BrightMind, allowing schools to maintain performance information and connect it with the wider learner journey, including the digital e-Portfolio.
BrightMind is designed to connect parents with relevant school and learner information, helping strengthen communication between the school and the family.
The Digital Learning Hub (ODEL) is the part of BrightMind focused on digital learning. It provides a structured environment where teachers can organize learning resources and activities while learners access their digital learning experience.
ODEL means Open, Distance and e-Learning. Within BrightMind, the Digital Learning Hub extends the platform beyond school administration and supports digital learning activities and resources.
The Digital Learning Hub is designed to give teachers a structured digital space for sharing learning resources and organizing learning activities for learners.
Yes. The ODEL environment is designed to connect learners with digital learning resources, assignments and activities provided through their school's BrightMind environment.
No. One of BrightMind's key ideas is that digital learning should not be isolated from the rest of the school. ODEL is part of the wider BrightMind ecosystem and can sit alongside learner records, assessment, portfolios and school administration.
Yes. BrightMind includes a digital e-Portfolio concept for building a learner-centered digital record of learning, work, progress and achievement.
BrightMind is built around role-based access. Depending on the school's configuration, users can include school administrators, teachers, learners and parents.
Use the Forgot Password option on the login page and follow the available recovery process. If you continue to have problems accessing your account, contact BrightMind support.
BrightMind uses role-based access so that different categories of users can work with the parts of the portal appropriate to their role.
Schools can contact BrightMind for enrollment and subscription information. The appropriate subscription option can then be discussed based on the school's needs.
BrightMind supports M-Pesa payment workflows for supported services, including SMS credit purchases. Payment status is designed to be verified before credits are applied.
A payment can remain in Processing while BrightMind waits for the payment confirmation. It should only be treated as successful after the appropriate payment confirmation has been received and verified. Expired processing payments can be handled by the system's payment cleanup process.
Credits should be added after the M-Pesa payment is successfully confirmed and verified. BrightMind is designed not to treat merely initiating an STK Push as proof of payment.
BrightMind is designed with security controls including authentication, protected pages, role-based access and verification of important workflows. Schools should also use strong passwords and protect their account credentials.
Access is controlled through user authentication and role-based permissions. Users should only be given accounts and permissions appropriate to their responsibilities.
